The best time to visit Sri Lanka varies by region: Southwest coast and west (e.g. Colombo, Galle): December to March. Northeast and east (e.g. Trincomalee, Batticaloa): May to September. Sri Lanka can essentially be visited year-round, as the monsoon seasons alternate between east and west.
A round trip through Sri Lanka ideally lasts between 10 and 14 days. In this time you can explore the most important highlights. For the adventurous, I always recommend taking the train along the route between Kandy and Nuwara Eliya or Ella.
Excellent flight connections lead to Malé, which makes Sri Lanka and the Maldives a wonderful combination. In addition, there is also the option of combining a stay in the Emirates or southern India.
