In Khao Lak, in Thailand's Phang Nga province, The Sarojin is a boutique resort with 56 residences in ten acres of tropical gardens, right on a secluded white sand beach on the Andaman Sea. Even at full occupancy, stillness and privacy remain, as the residences are spread generously across the grounds. The beach stretches for eleven kilometres and is sheltered by Pakarang Cape, making year-round swimming possible. At The Sarojin, the choice begins with the question of where your table should be set. Breakfast is served à la carte with sparkling wine until 6 pm, and every dish can be adapted to your dietary needs. At the Edge on the beach, the kitchen serves Thai and Asian dishes, and at Ficus, beneath an ancient fig tree, Mediterranean cuisine. The wine bar and cellar hold around 200 wines.
Weekly Culinary Journey Evenings take place in the gardens or on the beach. For two, there is "just for 2": a private dinner beside a candlelit jungle waterfall, a beach barbecue or a meal on a private sand bar island.
Wellness
Pathways Spa floats above the estuary at the heart of the resort, with views through a coconut grove to the Andaman Sea. Four open-air double pavilions with rain showers are available, two of them with a couples' bath. The treatments draw on traditional Thai healing knowledge and use oils made entirely from natural ingredients. Anne Semonin treatments are used for facials.
Yoga and meditation take place in the gardens. The fitness centre offers multi-station equipment, free weights, a treadmill and a bike.
Experiences
The 25 × 25 metre infinity pool lies within the tropical garden. A catamaran, a sailing dinghy, windsurfers, sea kayaks and mountain bikes are available. Aboard the Lady Sarojin, you can snorkel or dive around the Similan and Surin Islands or in Phang Nga Bay, on request as a private charter.
The "Imagineer" concierge tailors your days around you: sea cave canoe trips, jungle adventures, temple visits at sunrise or Thai cooking classes. For weddings and renewals of vows, the beach, Ficus, Edge and the gardens provide the setting.
Room categories
The Sarojin offers four categories in two-storey buildings set within the tropical garden, 56 residences in total. All residences have a king-size bed, air conditioning, Bluetooth speaker, smart TV, safe, Wi-Fi, fruit basket, deli bar, and coffee, tea and water. The bathrooms, with an indoor garden setting, offer a couples' bath, rainfall shower, double vanity and dressing area. Bathrobes and slippers are provided. Children under ten years cannot be accommodated.
The Garden Residence (95 sqm) is on the ground floor, set within the tropical garden. It includes an outdoor sun terrace and a shaded Thai-style sala.
The Pool Residence (120 sqm) is located in the corners of the ground floor of each building, screened within its own garden. It has a sun terrace, a sala and a private pool (5.5 × 3.5 m).
The Jacuzzi Pool Suite (150 sqm) is on the upper floor with views across the gardens. It includes a four-poster master bedroom, a separate large lounge with a four-poster daybed and two bathrooms, one indoors and one outdoors. On the sun terrace is a jacuzzi pavilion (2.2 × 2.2 m).
The Two-Bedroom Pool Residence (215 sqm) is created by a connecting door between an adjoining Garden Residence and Pool Residence on the ground floor, offering the facilities of both. It suits families or small groups travelling together who still value separate spaces.
