Cuisine

The Pointe Restaurant sits where land meets sea, on a rocky headland where waves crash against ancient stone below the building. Chef Clayton Fontaine's menu follows the seasons and the bounty of this coast: Salt Spring Island mussels, Dungeness crab landed hours before service, and chanterelles straight from the rainforest floor. From brunch with house-made pastries to a five-course evening tasting menu, the cuisine unfolds with precision and reverence for its ingredients. Dishes are paired with wines from Howard's Wine Cellar, where over 10,000 bottles – including an exceptional selection of British Columbia vintages – await discovery. On The Rocks Bar serves cocktails with ocean views throughout the day, while the Driftwood Café, with its locally roasted coffee, and the seasonal Summer Crab Cookout offer relaxed, easygoing moments of indulgence.

Wellness

Ancient Cedars Spa is nestled at ocean level within the Pointe Building, sheltered at the edge of ancient old-growth forest. With views out toward the Pacific, soothing waves and thoughtfully curated treatments come together for an escape from the bustle of everyday life – dedicated to deep reconnection with yourself. The spa is intentionally designed as an adult-oriented space; yoga classes at the Rainforest Haven studio build strength, alignment and restorative breath – open daily from 9am to 6pm.

Experiences

Just a short walk from Wickaninnish Inn lies Chesterman Beach, beautiful in every season. Boat tours venture deep into Clayoquot Sound, where black bears forage along the shoreline and grey whales surface beyond the kelp forests, while sea kayaking through sheltered inlets reveals the coast's rich marine life. Tofino's renowned surf invites both beginners and seasoned wave riders to connect with the ocean. On land, hikes through ancient rainforest among towering Western red cedars lead to hidden waterfalls and secluded coves, while coastal cycling routes and birdwatching excursions reveal further facets of the region. In winter, the famous Storm Watching season draws guests from around the world to experience the Pacific's full force right from their room. Henry Nolla's Carving Shed and the adjoining art gallery offer insight into the region's artistic traditions, while scenic helicopter and seaplane flights unveil spectacular views over fjords, mountains and waterfalls.
