Raffles Seychelles lies on the north shore of Praslin, the second largest of the archipelago’s 115 islands, and in 2011 became the first Raffles resort in the world. The villas cascade down the green hillsides, from the ridge with views over palm forest and ocean to the tropical beachside garden at Anse Takamaka. Losean serves breakfast and dinner under the open sky overlooking the ocean, with evening dishes shaped by the Indian Ocean. By the pool, Pool Restaurant & Bar serves light classics made with fresh local produce, and at The Sushi Room sushi, nigiri, maki and sashimi are made from the day’s catch. On the colonial-style terrace of Danzil Bar & Lounge, cocktails and fine rums are served against the sea.
On request, a dinner on the beach under the stars, a picnic or a garden barbecue can be arranged. Villa dining is available around the clock.
Wellness
Raffles Spa combines the skill of therapists from around the world with products from Biologique Recherche, Aromatherapy Associates and The Refinery. Thirteen treatment pavilions are either open-sided with sea views or set deep in the forest. The spa includes a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, experience showers and an outdoor pool, and yoga takes place in the pavilion or, on request, in your villa. The spa is open daily from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, and the fitness centre around the clock.

On the grounds live 16 adult and three young Aldabra giant tortoises that you can feed, and in “Ranger for a Day” guests become tortoise rangers. Further options include a Sunset Escapade on the beach with champagne and canapés, a Creole cooking class, deep-sea fishing with a cook-your-catch session, and excursions to the Vallée de Mai and La Digue. In the water, non-motorised water sports are complimentary, and the Sugar Palm Kids Club offers children complimentary activities every day.

Sleeping and living areas flow into one room, with a king bed in soft tones of cream and sage green. On the terrace, sunloungers stand by the private 14-sqm plunge pool, and a pavilion with a daybed and dining table invites you to linger. Besides the walk-in shower, the bathroom offers a private outdoor rainforest shower. The villa sleeps up to four guests.
The Ocean View Pool Villa (125 sqm) lies on the hillside between mountaintop and coast, flooded with natural light and with a view of the sea. On the outdoor daybed or in your own 14-sqm plunge pool you spend quiet hours, and in the evening the stars appear in the sky. The view reaches across the coast even from the bathroom. The villa has a king bed and sleeps up to four guests.
The Panoramic Pool Villa (125 sqm) sits at the top of the resort, with a view of up to 180 degrees over the ocean. From the private 14-sqm plunge pool it stretches across the water to Curieuse Island, the blue of the pool merging into the turquoise of the Indian Ocean. For a siesta, the shaded outdoor daybed is ideal, or the interior, where dark wooden furniture meets fabrics in cream, coral and seafoam. The villa has a king bed and sleeps up to four guests.
The Grand Hillside Garden View Pool Villa (200 sqm) lies screened from the rest of the resort by the island’s greenery and has one bedroom with a separate living room. Flexible furnishing options provide space for small families, and cream-coloured sofas invite you to linger in the sunny lounge area. At lunchtime, your private Raffles Butler prepares simple island meals in the kitchenette and serves them on the dark-wood terrace. The villa has a king bed, a 20-sqm plunge pool, a pavilion with daybed and dining table, and sleeps up to five guests.
The Grand Ocean View Pool Villa (200 sqm) has one bedroom with a separate living room and overlooks the Indian Ocean. From the broad hardwood terrace, the view reaches across your own 20-sqm plunge pool to the sea, and a daybed and loungers invite you to linger by the water. In the outdoor dining area, the Raffles Butler serves prepared meals. He also takes care of requests such as a romantic bath in the marble bathroom or reservations at the resort’s restaurants. The villa has a king bed and sleeps up to five guests.
