Highlights at Finolhu Maldives.
Baa Atoll, Maldives Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort
Barefoot and colourful
Finolhu lies in Baa Atoll, around 35 minutes by seaplane from Malé. The island is small enough to explore on foot yet offers plenty of space: long white beaches, a turquoise lagoon and a sandbank on which the Crab Shack restaurant stands with its feet in the sand. 125 villas lie on the beach, in the lagoon or on stilts above the water, designed by London studio Muza Lab in the colours of nature. Add restaurants with cuisines from Japan to North Africa, a spa with ten treatment rooms and a programme for families that gives children and teenagers places of their own.

Beach Kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at six live-cooking stations, with a theme each evening, such as Asian, Maldivian, Italian or seafood. Kanusan above the water serves classical and modern Japanese cuisine with its own sushi bar. At Arabian Grill, mezze, tagine and grilled dishes from the Middle East and North Africa come to the table.
Crab Shack lies on the sandbank, a 20-minute walk or a five-minute ride in a wooden boat away. There you eat seafood and light dishes with your feet in the sand, and in the evening the island holds its White Party here. The Beach Club is the centre of the island in the evening, and the Shisha Lounge with its library is quieter. Milk Lab serves pastries, ice cream and milkshakes. On request, a dinner is laid at a place of your choice, on the beach, in your villa or on the 5° North platform in the middle of the lagoon.
Wellness
Fehi Spa has ten treatment rooms, six of them for couples and four single rooms. Separate saunas for women and men, a steam room and private plunge pools complete the offering, and a salon provides hair and nail care. For exercise, there are indoor and outdoor gyms, a personal trainer and a yoga pavilion.
Experiences
A coral project grows in the lagoon, and you can snorkel out to its nursery, with the island’s marine biologist reporting on progress. Diving and snorkelling are among the main themes, and excursions lead to manta rays and dolphins. On land, you can play tennis, padel and, in the golf studio, golf on courses from around the world, and in the Art Lab, canvas, resin and pottery pieces take shape.
The Beach Bubble Experience begins with a private sunset barbecue and ends with breakfast under the stars, on a secluded sandbank. Couples can also exchange vows on Finolhu, with four themes, hair and make-up before the ceremony, and photography.
At the Oceaneers Club, there is a daily programme for children with a board games room, a children’s pool and a napping room, and the Teens Hut offers photography workshops, DJ classes, boot camp and Maldivian cooking classes.
